The whole day I sailed against the wind holding the ropes tight under the sun and the gusts of water Until a bell brought me to my class undecided about where I was going sure of where I should be In the clouded mornig I heard seagulls squeal in the playground I smelled the country fields And I repeated my lesson with my hair dripping wet and the wheel steering in my incertain hands without slaking my speed The vibrations of the season echoed in the empty corridors even before the crowd had gone At the end of the day I left behind the reflections of the desk tops pages of work till the next morning and a deep longing for a new summer. |
